Someone isn’t dead, and if you don’t want to know who it is, stop here until you’ve watched the episode. There is no going back now. Yes, “Fringe” fans. Part one of the season finale has brought back a character we didn’t know was out of amber. William Bell (Leonard Nimoy) is alive!
In this week’s episode, someone is overheating the nanites in people’s bodies. A brave woman named Jessica Holt (Rebecca Mader) allows Walter (John Noble) to experiment on her to save them. What we find out is that Olivia (Anna Torv) has kinetic powers from the cortexiphan. She lowers Jessica’s temperature with her mind. Nice trick!
Olivia is worried that she and Peter (Joshua Jackson) will never have a normal life after the two of them discuss getting a place with a nursery. Crazy abilities that we learn later in the episode include remote punching, might make this an issue. Still, you could totally use them to help your kid win fights on the playground.
The big issue this week was what David Robert Jones (Jared Harris) was going to do next. That, however, is no longer a problem after his fight with Peter and a remote Olivia. It turns out that the sacrifice that Bell spoke about, the one he compared to a “bishop” is chess wasn’t Walter at all. It was Jones.
It was a strong episode overall, but the drama was far out shined by the Peter and Olivia moments and the shooting in the warehouse. We have no idea about the fates of Walter and Astrid (Jaiska Nicole) and it looks like the final is going to be huge!
What did you guys think of the episode? Is Astrid dead? Is Jones really gone? Can Peter and Olivia have a normal life? Let us know below. Best moment of the night? Walter making pig brain lemon cake in the Easy Bake Oven.
