In a couple of weeks, our favorite fall TV series will go back into production as casts and crews return to set — but of course, the writers have already been toiling away for weeks. “Fringe” executive producer J.H. Wyman teased fans on Tuesday with a sneak peek at the cover page for the show’s Season 5 premiere, titled “Transilience Thought Unifier Model-11.”
As expected, Season 5 will feature a time-jump to 2036, after Peter and Walter have been trapped in amber for 20 years or so. “Do you think they’ll have peacoats in 2036?” Josh Jackson asked coyly on Twitter after the show was renewed for Season 5.
Of course, Olivia and Astrid will also feature in the future, so don’t fret, Fringies. John Noble confirmed to TVLine that even the Observer tyranny can’t keep the team apart. “Walter, Olivia, Astrid and Peter are insurgents, so we know all the
dirty tricks that have been played against us. We’ll be learning from
the past,” he says.
He also notes that he’s looking forward to a reunion for Olivia and her now-grown daughter, Etta, and to Peter and Walter restoring their relationship to its former glory. Tune in Friday, Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. for the season 5 premiere.
