FX’s pilot “The Strain” has added a second member to its cast: Former “Lost” villain Kevin Durand.
The show, based on Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan‘s novels about a vampire outbreak in New York, cast “House of Cards” star Corey Stoll earlier in the week as its lead, a CDC doctor leading efforts to contain the outbreak.
Durand will play a character named Vasily Fet, an exterminator who joins the fight against the vampires. He’ll be working again with his “Lost” boss Carlton Cuse, who is executive producing the pilot and will serve as showrunner if FX picks up “The Strain.”
Hogan and del Toro are co-writing the pilot script, and del Toro is in line to direct the pilot.
Durand played mercenary Martin Keamy on 11 episodes of “Lost.” His other credits include “Robin Hood” with Russell Crowe, “Resident Evil: Retribution” and “Dark Angel.”
