Former Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, the victim of a shooting at a campaign rally in January 2011 that left six people dead and Giffords critically injured by a gunshot wound to the head, was on hand at the 2012 Democratic National Convention to show her support for President Obama.
There was not a dry in the place (or at home) when Giffords proudly walked under her own power to the middle of the stage and led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. She sounded remarkably good, only stumbling slightly over just a couple of words.
Gabby then flashed her brilliant smile and waved to the crowd before exiting the stage. A powerful moment indeed.
