The night is dark and full of terrors, and so is the break from “Game of Thrones” over Memorial Day weekend. The series is taking a week off on May 25, meaning that viewers will have to wait that much longer for some of the biggest payoffs on the shows run.
Fortunately fans now have a vague idea of what to expect in the final three episodes of Season 4 that will air in June. HBO released the plot synopses of “The Mountain and the Viper,” “The Watchers on the Wall” and “The Children,” and it should be easy enough for book readers to puzzle out some of the events.
Season 4, episode 8, “The Mountain and the Viper” (airing June 1): “Unexpected visitors arrive in Mole’s Town; Littlefinger’s motives are questioned; Ramsay tries to prove himself to his father; Tyrion’s fate is decided.”
Season 4, episode 9, “The Watchers on the Wall” (airing June 8): “Jon Snow and the Night’s Watch face a big challenge.”
Season 4, episode 10, “The Children” (airing June 15): “Circumstances change after an unexpected arrival from north of the Wall; Dany must face harsh realities; Bran learns more about his destiny; Tyrion sees the truth about his situation.”
“Game of Thrones” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
