Monday (Jan. 17) marks exactly 90 days until “Game of Thrones” premieres on HBO, and to mark the occasion HBO has released a new teaser for the series.
You won’t really see much footage from the show, but you’ll hear a lot of voice-over from the show’s core cast — including Sean Bean, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke and Peter Dinklage — over darkly lit, brooding images of their characters. And swords — lots of swords.
HBO unveiled an 11-minute preview of the show in December — which was at least half interview and behind-the-scenes footage — and a minute-long trailer was released shortly before that, but even in those two pieces it has been keeping actual scenes from the show mostly away from view. The same rule applies here, but it does feel as though the new trailer captures the mood of dread that will permeate much of the show.
“Game of Thrones” premieres April 17 on HBO. What do you think of the new trailer?
