Garth Brooks fans, better book your ticket to Las Vegas soon — the country singer has announced that he’ll play his final solo acoustic show at the Wynn Las Vegas on Nov. 17. That means you have just four more chances to catch one of the concerts: Oct. 26 and 27 and Nov. 16 and 17.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Wynn,” Brooks says in a statement. “[Steve] Wynn told me that the Wynn audiences were some of the best in the world and he was right. As for Steve Wynn, he is one of the smartest guys I have ever had the pleasure of talking to or listening to. He does everything top notch and is the easiest and best boss I have ever worked for. … I just love him!”
Brooks has been commuting from his home in Oklahoma to Vegas for one weekend of shows a month since 2009, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal. His residency was always open-ended, but expected to last for five years. Instead, it’s run for three.
The country star has said that he doesn’t want to tour again until his three girls have graduated high school. His youngest is 16, so should be graduating in the next few years — so Brooks fans, keep your fingers crossed for a tour announcement then.
“I have always thought of Garth Brooks as a brother and this will always be a home for him,” Wynn says in a statement. “Personally, I’ve never stopped being amazed at Garth’s talent, nor have I ever stopped admiring the wonderful balance that he has maintained as a father and a superstar. He is to me, the rarest of all combinations: incredibly gifted and a man of great character.”
