Were you a part of the delightful cultural phenomenon on Twitter Thursday, July 11 when Syfy aired its original movie “Sharknado”? Want to do it again?
“Ghost Shark” is coming your way Thursday, Aug. 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Syfy — “a great white shark is tortured and killed by a fisherman, then returns from the dead, exacting vengeance on all humans.”
“When Ava’s (Mackenzie Rosman, all grown up now but formerly of “7th Heaven”) father is brutally murdered, no one believes that the ghost shark got him — except the crazy lighthouse keeper Finch (“Night Court’s” Richard Moll). Ava and her friends take the problem into their own hands as they desperately try to survive the bloody wrath of the ghost shark.”
So, it sounds like part “Jaws IV,” part “Scooby Doo” mystery and ALL fun.
But wait! There’s more!
Before “Ghost Shark,” tune in for “Invasion Roswell,” which spins the tale of the Roswell, New Mexico UFO aliens returning to earth 66 years later and “only the over-the-hill retired commandos can stop them.” It stars … wait for it … Greg Evigan of “My Two Dads” fame. Yes! Also, Denise Crosby of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” (and more recently, of “Southland” and “Ray Donovan”).
Did you know Evigan sang the theme song from “My Two Dads”? We can only hope he sings in “Invasion Roswell.”
August is Original Movie Month on Syfy, so your Thursday nights are pretty much booked for four weeks.
