You have apparently seen the last of Lauren Zizes on “Glee,” says the actress who plays (played?) her.
Ashley Fink has been absent from the show since the beginning of Season 3, when she ended things with Puck (Mark Salling) and quit New Directions. There were reports that she’d return later in the season, but that hasn’t happened yet — and to hear Fink tell it, it won’t in the final few episodes either.
“It is what it is,” Fink told “The Insider” at the weekend premiere of “Struck by Lightning,” starring and written by her “Glee” castmate Chris Colfer. “Lauren’s somewhere in that school, she’s just not on camera or being talked about. … She’s involved in activities that aren’t televised.”
Fink says she dropped by the set recently to see her friends there, but she did so only as a visitor. She also says she misses the “fun experience” of working on the show but isn’t bitter about being written out.
“‘Glee’ is very much a fly by the seat of your pants [operation] in the way that best-laid plans never quite come together,” she says. “They have so many [characters] to take care of, and I think once they made the decision that all these characters were going to graduate, it shifted the way this season was going to go.”
Do you miss Lauren on “Glee”?
