“Glee” will attempt to make up for its recent run of repeats by giving you an extra 30 minutes of show soon after its return.
The show will present a bulked-up, 90-minute episode called “Born This Way” on April 26, the week after it returns from its current rerun period. It will icnlude New Directions performing the Lady Gaga song that gives the episode its title.
“Born This Way” isn’t tribute episode along the lines of the show’s Madonna or Britney Spears episodes (it’s also not the first time “Glee” has gone Gaga; “Poker Face” and “Bad Romance” were featured in last season’s “Theatricality”). Rather, it will touch on themes of “self-acceptance and embracing what makes you unique.”
You’ll also see Lauren (Ashley Fink) and Quinn (Dianna Agron) locked in a fierce campaign for prom queen, Emma (Jayma Mays) confronting her OCD, Rachel (Lea Michele) struggling a big decision and Santana (Naya Rivera) scheming to “permanently alter the glee club dynamic.” And we’re sure it will be handled with the usual subtlety and understatement that is the hallmark of “Glee.”
The 90-minute episode will bump “Traffic Light” from the schedule that night; “Raising Hope” will air at 9:30 p.m. ET.
