“Glee” actress Dot-Marie Jones has gotten engaged to her longtime girlfriend, Bridgett Casteen at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim California. Reports say that the proposal happened near Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in the theme park.
That seems fitting. After all, if you’re going to propose, why not do it at the Happiest Place on Earth?
“It’s the happiest day of my life,” Jones told The Advocate on Friday (Oct. 4). “I never thought I’d find somebody that is so loving and kind.”
Not coincidentally, Jones’ proposal after three years of dating Casteen came during Anaheim Gay Days, an annual event that brings LGBT visitors to the city’s popular theme parks. The actress announced her engagement during a Q&A panel with the event’s founder, Eddie Shapiro.
Jones is best known for her portrayal of Coach Shannon Beiste on “Glee,” a role for which she has been nominated for three Emmy awards. An actress for the past two decades, Jones has also appeared in “Hawthorne,” “Nip/Tuck,” “Lizzie McGuire” and “Married with Children.”
