Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is notorious for his foul mouth, with his colorful rants aimed at contestants on “MasterChef” and “Hell’s Kitchen” the stuff of legend, but now that he’s the host of the G-rated “MasterChef Junior,” the hot-tempered chef will certainly rein it in, right?
While Ramsay likely isn’t lobbing expletive-laden insults at the contestants, whose ages range from 8-13, breakout cheflet Sarah recently admitted that Ramsay wasn’t all sugar and spice and everything nice on set.
During this summer’s TCA tour, Ramsay was questioned about his contributions to the curse jar on set, and he tried to talk around the question, babbling, “My wife is an ex-school teacher. I think, like any sport, any situation under pressure, when some bad words come out, they get bleeped. I don’t think I swore once across ‘MasterChef Junior.'”
Sarah wasn’t having any of it and, according to Today, quickly corrected Ramsay, revealing that he didn’t just slip once, but twice.
When he was later asked if he had ever participated in anger management therapy, Ramsay attempted to pass the query off as one for Sarah. “Seriously?” she said, looking at him. “Really? Answer your question!”
Sarah, who admitted she’s not afraid of Ramsay, even approached Today after the panel, offering to spill all about her mentor — with a caveat. “Well, I’ll tell you off the record. Turn off your recorder…”
Kids say the darndest things, huh?
“MasterChef Junior” airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on FOX.
