The Upper East Side is still reeling from the news that Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley) is Chuck’s (Ed Westwick) mother. But as has always been the case with “Gossip Girl,” things are not necessarily as they seem. Here’s what we learned on Monday’s (April 23) episode…
Lola’s Dad – In a fleeting moment of honesty, William van der Woodsen (William Baldwin) admits that he is, in fact, Lola’s long-lost father. While Lola’s (Ella Rae Peck) content keeping this a secret, Serena’s (Blake Lively) an accidental sleuth and finds out the news almost as it happens. Once she shares this information with Lily (Kelly Rutherford), a chaotic family get together soon follows. But is William simply playing the long con?
Ivy’s “Mom” – Due to some clever “legal” maneuvering, Lily manages to get CeCe’s will invalidated. But that’s far from the end of matters. There’s still the whole issue of Carol Rhodes (Sheila Kelley) serving as the criminal mastermind behind the Ivy (Kaylee DeFer) ruse. Thanks to an assist from Ivy herself, Carol might end up spending a lot of her remaining days in prison.
Chuck’s Dad? – The mystery of Chuck’s mom may not be solved yet after all. It’s starting to look like Diana might be involved in an elaborate scam. And who could be seedy enough to perpetrate such a hoax? Why it might just be Chuck’s possible father, Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington).
Then there’s Blair (Leighton Meester) and Dan (Penn Badgley) quibbling over very little. So we’ll leave them out of the mix this week. But if past history is any indication, they’ll be back soon enough.
Uh oh. Uh oh.
