“Guardians of the Galaxy” just added a new cast member. Gregg Henry — who appeared in director James Gunn‘s two other movies, “Super” and “Slither” — confirmed he has a role in the upcoming Marvel Studios movie.
“OK UK hold on, I’m comin’.
Joining @JamesGunn again-
this time for @Marvel #GuardiansOfTheGalaxy. Gonnabegreat!” Henry tweets.
Gunn responds, “Can’t wait!”
No word yet on which character Henry will be playing. It seems likely that he’s not one of the main Guardians in the film, but instead a secondary character. Still, who knows? Maybe Gunn cast him as the voice of Rocket Raccoon.
Henry is a familiar face in television and film, most recently having arcs in “The Killing” and “Scandal.” In “Guardians of the Galaxy,” he’ll be joining an array of other actors best known for their TV work, like Chris Pratt, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista and Michael Rooker. Also in the movie are Zoe Saldana, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Benicio Del Toro and Djimon Hounsou, while Vin Diesel is rumored to voice Groot.
“Guardians of the Galaxy” is due in theaters on Aug. 1, 2014.
