Oh, goodie. Gwyneth Paltrow has landed at $900,000 contract with Atlantic Records to release a country-flavored album.
This according to AOL News, which reports that the deal will have Paltrow releasing a full-length album in the not-too-distant future.
That puts the insouciant one — who is also set to reprise her role on Tuesday’s (March 8) episode of “Glee” — in rarified company. She’s following in the footsteps of Don Johnson, Eddie Murphy and William Shatner — all actors who attempted a music crossover (with varying success).
Paltrow has been showcasing her voice off and on since she appeared in “Duets” in 2000. Most recently, she took the stage at the Country Music Awards, the Grammys (with Cee-Lo Green) and the Oscars to belt out tunes without a net. And, in 2010, she played a washed-up singer in the twangy “Country Strong.”
