After spending Christmas with his family, Styles’ mother drove him 180 miles from their Cheshire home to Heathrow, where the young lad realized he’d forgotten the one thing he needed to board a plane: his passport.
The patient pop star hired a courier to deliver the passport to him at the airport — much too late to catch his 11:15 a.m. flight, however. Instead, he caught a 7:30 p.m. plane to Boston, giving him lots of time to kill.
“He managed to get on the evening flight but it still meant that he had to wait another eight hours for his post-Christmas reunion with Taylor,” a source told the U.K.’s Sunday People. “Despite this, he took the whole event in good humor and ridiculed himself for it.”
Styles and Swift reportedly plan to spend a few days together before her New Year’s performance in Times Square as part of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”
