Sounds like Rachel Bilson’s real-life pregnancy won’t go the route of co-star Jaime King’s on “Hart of Dixie,” where her growing baby bump was hidden behind lamp shades and tables with creative camera angles.
According to CW President Mark Pedowitz, a pregnant Zoe Hart is in the not-too-distant future.
“[Executive producer] Leila Gerstein is planning to have a pregnancy eventually happen to the character of Zoe Hart,” Pedowitz told a small group of reporters at the 2014 Summer TV Press Tour on Friday (July 18).
While Pedowitz didn’t elaborate on whether the pregnancy would happen this season to coincide with Bilson’s real-life pregnancy, or in a later season, it all points to one outcome: Things with Wade are about to go really, really well (squee!).
So when will “Hart of Dixie” be back on our screens? Not until midseason — but Pedowitz doesn’t view that as a negative thing, or an early cancelation for the southern charmer.
“We are doing 10 episodes this year,” Pedowitz says. “We are looking forward to seeing what happens. We have not quite planned where we’re putting it yet because we’re waiting for our fall schedule to come out and then we’ll make the determination what midseason shows will premiere when.”
“Hart of Dixie” Season 4 premieres in early 2015.
