Just what the bloody hell is going on in Netflix’s new original horror soap “Hemlock Grove,” from executive producer Eli Roth?
The website’s new “redband” trailer opens with the warning of “mild fornication, fellatio, heavy cocaine use, lesbian necrophilia, violent hemorrhaging” and yeah, it delivers. Apparently Netflix got the classy stuff out of the way with “House of Cards.”
As you might expect from Roth (the “mastermind” behind the “Hostel” films), “Hemlock” looks extremely trashy, and not necessarily in a fun way.
Netflix subscribes can find out for themselves soon enough. The whole series — which features Famke Janssen (“X-Men”) and Lili Taylor (“Six Feet Under”) alongside the lesser known likes of “True Blood” star Alexander Skarsgard’s younger brother Bill Skarsgard — begins streaming Friday (April 19).
