“Hollywood Game Night” returns for Season 2 Monday night (Jan. 20) with back-to-back episodes that feature host Jane Lynch cracking wise on a whole new group of celebrities and also some new games, but the same hilarity from Season 1.
At the 2014 TCA winter press tour, Lynch and the show’s executive producers were asked who the most competitive celebrities are and they were not shy at all about outing the actors and actresses who are the most intense. Jason Sudeikis came first, followed by Yvette Nicole Brown and Anthony Anderson, whom the EPs thought might “come to blows.”
Lynch also says Julie Bowen is uber-competitive, cracking, “Skinny girls are the meanest. Julie Bowen, Angela Kinsey, Ellie Kemper — I was afraid of them.”
However, Lynch won’t reveal who is the worst player among the celebrities, since it’s all about having fun. “If you show up game, show up ready to play, even if you get everything wrong all night long, who cares? … How much fun you had is the most important thing,” says Lynch.
In addition to teasing the celebrity fun this season, an announcement made during the panel about a play-at-home version of “Hollywood Game Night” that is in the works, both in board game and card game format. They will feature everyone’s favorite games from the show, like TV ID, How Do You Doo? and I Love a Charade. The games are both launching later this spring.
The panel also reveals that the show has husbands and wives playing against each other in the coming season and hopes in the future to have casts of shows playing against one another.
