It’s double or nothing for “Homeland” Season 4’s premiere episode.
With the decision to give “Homeland” a two hour premiere on Oct. 5, the series premiere of “The Affair” has been moved back a week to Oct. 12. “Once we decided to premiere ‘Homeland’ with a double episode, it made sense to use the momentum of that event to launch our newest series, ‘The Affair,’ the very next week,” Levine explains.
When promoting “Homeland’s” new season at the 2014 summer TV critics press tour, executive producer Alex Gansa explained Season 4 is “about the private and public costs of keeping America safe.”
“We put a character at the center of that — a compelling character, hopefully, in Carrie Mathison — to really identify the personal costs of the journey. But there also is a national cost to our policies, in Afghanistan and Pakistan specifically,” he said. “That’s the story we’re going to explore this season. It’s got some juice to it.”
