“Horrible Bosses” obviously did not hear that new comedies wouldn’t make a dent into “Transformers: Dark of the Moon’s” week 3 box office.

The ensemble comedy about three put-upon friends (Jason Bateman,
Charlie Day,
Jason Sudeikis) trying to take out their bosses earned a very respectable $9.9 million at the Friday box office.

Of course, “Transformers” still came out on top. Michael Bay‘s third installment of the special effects orgy based on a toy brought in $15 million from Friday audiences, bringing its total haul to $228.9 million.

The latest Kevin James unconventional workplace comedy, “Zookeeper,” currently sits at number 3, with $7.4 million. “Cars 2” and “Bad Teacher” round out the top 5, with $4.8 million and $3 million in July 8 grosses, respectively.
