Ina Garten may not be on the Easter Bunny’s nice list (Wait, does the Bunny have a nice list?) after that Make-A-Wish stunt she pulled, but the Barefoot Contessa can still tell us what’s up when it comes to the kitchen.
— Extra-large eggs Directions:
— Place the eggs in a saucepan and add enough cold water to cover. — Bring the water to a boil and immediately turn off the heat. Let the eggs sit in the pan for 15 minutes. — Remove the eggs to a bowl and allow to rest for at least 2 minutes. When the eggs are cool enough to handle, crack the eggs on each side and then roll them back and forth with your hand, breaking up the shell. Remove and discard the shell. Make sure the saucepan is still covered upon turning off the heat so the water continues to boil on it’s own. Personally, we like to cool the eggs in ice water before enjoying or storing in the fridge — But who are we to disagree with the Barefoot Contessa?
