Funny or Die has released their first long form video, and it happens to be a parody biopic of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. Billing itself as “the first Steve Jobs movie,” “iSteve” stars Justin Long in the titular role.
The video clocks in at 78 minutes and 55 seconds, which is a lot longer than just about anything else you’ll find on the website, known for short comedic clips. In an interview with the New York Times, writer and director Ryan Perez jokes, “We might not be the best, but we will be the first.”
There are two other Jobs movies in the works, one written by Aaron Sorkin and another starring Ashton Kutcher, neither with a release date yet. However, the question remains: How long is too long for a website like Funny or Die? After programming it’s users to expect videos that run under five minutes, how will they react to one that lasts more than an hour?
