Big news out of Marvel Thursday morning (Aug. 29) — James Spader (“The Blacklist,” “The Office”) has been cast as Ultron, the villain taking on The Avengers in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” heading to the big screen May 1, 2015.
Joss Whedon is returning to write and direct the sequel to the 2012 mega-blockbuster, which earned $1.5 billion worldwide, making it the third-highest grossing movie of all time. Hopefully all your favorite superheroes will be back as well, though only Robert Downey Jr. has signed on officially so far.
Spader is an award-winning actor, having earned three Emmys for his work on “The Practice” and “Boston Legal.”
What do you think, “Avengers” fans? Good casting choice?
