Despite the fact he has yet to officially release ownership in the Brooklyn Nets, Jay-Z is already hard at work recruiting high profile athletes for his upstart agency Roc Nation Sports.
ESPN reports Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant is set to ditch his current representation at the powerhouse Landmark Sports Agency to be repped by Jay-Z.
While Durant doesn’t need any negotiating for his OKC contract — seeing as how he already signed an $85 million extension that keeps him with the Thunder through the 2015-16 NBA season — he does need help with his brand. And he thinks Hova is just the right man to help him build it.
Durant currently has endorsement deals with Gatorade, Sprint and Nike, among others.
Already on Jay-Z’s burgeoning sports roster are New York Jets’ rookie quarterback Geno Smith, New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano, and Skylar Diggins, who was drafted by the WNBA’s Tulsa Shock. New York Giants star wide receiver Victor Cruz and DeSean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles are also said to be interested in moving to Jay-Z’s agency.
