Warning: “Homeland” Season 3 spoilers contained in this article.
Jennifer Lawrence does not want her favorite TV shows spoiled for her, especially not by a reporter interviewing her on the red carpet.
The “American Hustle” star couldn’t handle herself as she walked up to talk to Access Hollywood podium on the 2014 SAG Awards red carpet and noticed “Homeland’s” dearly departed Damian Lewis being interviewed next to her. After a massive fangirl moment (when he noticed her, she pressed herself into the wall behind her face-first), but there was one small catch: She has only watched the show’s first two seasons, and doesn’t know his character died at the end of Season 3.
“Someone has watched two seasons of ‘Homeland’ twice, and I’m freaking out a little bit,” Lawrence admits to the Access reporter while eying Lewis.
She makes it clear that she definitely does not want to meet Lewis, and when she does anyway, Lawrence spins away while yelling, “It’s my favorite show ever!” Lewis offers her a cuddle and they hug, which is totally adorable. Her ears even gets red, she’s so embarrassed.
Lawrence mishears Lewis as asking “How old are you?” when he actually asks “How are you?” While giggling over the misunderstanding, the big spoilers come out from one of the reporters: “Are you upset that he died?”
The Oscar winner’s face falls as she hears the news. Like, seriously, that face was not for show. Lewis yells at the two interviewers to stop talking about Brody’s death, but the damage had been done, and none of Lewis’ denying the plot twist can bring them back from that moment.
“I can’t believe you said that. I said the first and second seasons. I haven’t watched the third season. I have to wait for them to come out on DVDs because I’m not patient. I can’t believe you did that,” Lawrence says to the Access interviewer, clearly legitimately upset about the incident. “I don’t even now what to say.”
She adds, “I’m like past mad. It’s this weird other emotion. … I feel like my heart just came out.”
