Apparently massive news, for instance whether or not Jennifer Lopez will return to judge the 11th season of “American Idol,” is best shared in a tweet. Or, to be specific, a tweet from Ryan Seacrest. Or really in any medium, as long as it involves Seacrest.
And since Seacrest has 4,956,694 followers of his 140-character-or-less missives, it isn’t the worst platform for getting word out quick.
On Wednesday (Aug. 10) morning, Seacrest tweeted the big news:
Dizzy Feet, for the uninitiated is “Idol” producer Nigel Lythgoe. Lythgoe had just called in to Seacrest’s morning radio show to share the word with Seacrest
“I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of ‘American Idol’ is back for the next season,” said Lythgoe.
Season 10 marked a departure from previous judges’ table line-ups. For the first time, Simon Cowell — who some had considered an indispensible annoyance — was gone. The only remaining original judge is Randy Jackson. Jackson and Lopez will again be joined by Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler.
