Jessica Alba took a nod from the Victorian era after giving birth to her second daughter, Haven. She wanted to lose the baby weight — and hide it while she still had it — so she wore two tightly-laced corsets 24 hours a day for 90 days.
“It was brutal; it’s not for everyone,” she tells Net-A-Porter. “I wore a double corset day and night for three months. It was sweaty, but worth it.”
Apparently, it’s not that rare. “The concept behind abdominal binders is very common after surgery and
after the delivery of a baby to help support abdominal muscles, help
with posture and reduce the feeling of bloating,” says Dr. Jennifer Ashton, ABC News‘ medical correspondent.
