Jessica Chastain is the latest major name to emerge in the casting for Christopher Nolan’s top secret sci-fi project “Interstellar,” which already has Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway set for lead roles.
Based on an original screenplay by Nolan’s brother Jonathan Nolan (who worked on the Batman films and executive produces CBS’ “Person of Interest”), “Interstellar” is said to involve time travel, an interstellar voyage and the scientific theories of Caltech physicist Kip Thorne. It’s scheduled to open Nov. 7, 2014.
Deadline reports Chastain is in talks for the third lead role in the film, which would represent one of her first projects since landing her second consecutive Oscar nomination (last year for “The Help” and this year for “Zero Dark Thirty”).
Chastain also recently joined the cast of Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming horror film “Crimson Peak” along with Benedict Cumberbatch, Emma Stone and Charlie Hunnam.
