For someone who’s been on camera as much as “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe Giudice, the couple doesn’t take kindly to getting cameras shoved in their faces, but that’s exactly what is happening to the pair after they were called into federal court to answer to multiple charges of fraud. It was reported that Joe slapped a camera held by a photographer after the July 30 hearing, and video of the incident has now appeared online.
Joe clearly was not happy with the situation he and his wife find themselves in based on the way he lashed out at the cameraman. He and Teresa were charged in a 39-count indictment including a number of fraud charges leveled against them. Each was released on a $500,000 bail, and could face up to 50 years in prison if convicted. Meanwhile, it was revealed Joe isn’t a U.S. citizen and could be deported back to Italy.
“Today is a most difficult day for our family. I support Joe and, as a wonderful husband and father, I know he wants only the best for our lovely daughters and me,” Teresa says in a statement. “I am committed to my family and intend to maintain our lives in the best way possible, which includes continuing my career. As a result, I am hopeful that we will resolve this matter with the government as quickly as possible.”
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for Aug. 14.
