We appreciate Tim Tebow as much as the next guy, but this might be a bit of a stretch. The Denver Broncos’ starting quarterback threw a 316-yard game against the Steelers in Sunday’s playoff match.
With a stunning 80-yard overtime touchdown pass, Tebow totaled 316 yards during the game — bringing the Broncos to a playoff-record 31.6 yards per completion. If you aren’t a Tebow fan, the numbers are significant because the religious athlete has been vocal about John 3:16 being his favorite Bible verse. He even marked it on his eye-black during his 2009 BCS game when he was playing for Florida.
The verse reads, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
The Chicago Sun Times is also reporting that during the final quarter of the game — where Tebow typically shines — the television ratings hit 31.6.
So, miracle? Coincidence? Completely irrelevant to your life? Weigh in.
