Travolta has been booked for a single episode in the role of a stagehand who has a one night stand with the star (Alley) of a Broadway show and then won’t leave her alone.
“I’m excited about working with Kirstie again, in addition to such terrific talent on the show,” Travolta said in a statement. “It’s always a treat to be surrounded by people you respect so much both personally and professionally.”
In addition to collaborating on three “Look Who’s Talking” films, Travolta also guest starred on Alley’s Showtime comedy “Fat Actress” and appeared on her short-lived reality series “Kirstie Alley’s Big Life.”
Consider the “Kirstie” plotline a playful spin on their real life relationship. Although they’ve never been romantically linked, Alley has made no secret of her … affection … for Travolta.
“Kirstie” premieres on TV Land Dec. 4, and Travolta’s episode is expected to air at some point later in the season. The series also stars Michael Richards (“Seinfeld”), Eric Petersen and Alley’s former “Cheers” co-star Rhea Perlman.
