Jon Gosselin and Kate Gosselin can’t seem to keep their dislike of one another out of the press — and nor, does it seem, do they want to. After the former “Jon & Kate Plus 8” stars threw shade at one another following Jon’s “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” appearance, he is now slamming Kate’s tendency to talk about their children’s personal lives on her Twitter account.
“Yeah, Twitter,” he tells Philadelphia. “I deleted it last year. Best thing I ever did. I can disappear. Nobody knows where I am. … [Kate] tweets everything. To the world, all about my children. I think it’s disgusting and awful. They can’t even have a normal life.”
The lengthy magazine feature on Gosselin is his attempt at redeeming his image before his season of “Couples Therapy” premieres on Jan. 6. Looking back, he acts like he regrets turning his life into his income on “Jon & Kate,” and says that this stint with girlfriend Liz Janetta on the VH1 series is more about their relationship than fame.
“I didn’t put out an open bid — this is something that just popped up,” Gosselin says. “We needed the therapy for our relationship. We really couldn’t afford therapy. And it’s free therapy.”
As for “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” Gosselin admits he “made a mistake” signing up for the show. Would he do it again? “Knowing what I know now, probably not.”
A lot of that has to do with the way his relationship with Kate played out. But though it often seems like he’s always ready to bring her down in the press, he says that’s not the case.
“Everyone thinks I’m out to get Kate. I don’t give a f***!” Gosselin says. “What would I get out of it? Everyone knows she’s an a**hole, you know what I mean? I don’t have to — she’s proven that! … Kate wants to still be on television. She’s now digging into the past, because that’s what sells. Too late, honey. No one gives a f***, really.”
