She’s on her own. Professional dancer and actress Julianne Hough gets candid in the August 2014 issue of Redbook magazine about becoming comfortable with herself and what went wrong in her past relationships.
While the former “Dancing With The Stars” showstopper has been in her current relationship with hockey player Brooks Laich since December 2013, dating hasn’t always been easy for Hough.
In regard to what ended her three-year relationship with Ryan Seacrest, Hough accepts her role in the demise: “Every relationship, there was nothing wrong or bad, but there was
nothing right. I had one foot out
because I didn’t want to get hurt. And I didn’t say what was on my mind
because I didn’t want to ruffle any feathers. I needed to be perfect.”
Hough tells the magazine it was actually the breakup with the “American Idol” host that led her to re-examine her dating life, “I had this epiphany when my family went to a six-day seminar [last
November] about creating your own destiny,” she says. “I learned so much
about myself and why my relationships didn’t work that by the end I was
on a high. I was seeing a couple people, but immediately [pretends to
text guys], ‘You are nice, but this is going nowhere.’ The next day my ‘Curve’ co-star introduced [Brooks and me]. It couldn’t have been a better time. We’ve been open and honest from day one.”
Hough, who is currently dancing with brother Derek, in the “Move Live On” tour, says she has applied her newly found wisdom to her current relationship, which seems to be going smoothly so far. “Now I’m not holding anything back, because I’d rather get my heart
