“Justified” just wrapped its fifth season, but we’re already looking ahead to Season 6 and perhaps the reappearance of Raylan’s old friends Ellstin Limehouse (Mykelti Williamson, left) and Errol (Demetrius Grosse, right).
Series creator Graham Yost recently said in an AMA on Reddit that “it really would be strange if we didn’t see Limehouse and Nobles Holler and the BBQ shack — and Limehouse’s teeth — again.” He also has informed Grosse — who previously starred on Cinemax’s “Banshee” — that Errol, who we last saw being shot when Limehouse and Quarles had their showdown over the “piggy bank,” is not dead and could return to the show.
“[Yost] said that my character’s still alive and there’s a chance that he could come back for the final season,” Grosse tells Zap2it. “The writers decided that my character did not die. Errol is still alive and there’s a chance we could re-enter Nobles Holler and find out how that story reaches its end.”
Grosse adds that he would be all for revisiting Errol again. “I love that character, yeah. It’s fun when you get to play a
character where everything is not necessarily on the surface, that
there’s layers to pull back and that’s what Errol is to me.
“Errol is a
guy people assume may not be that intelligent because he’s not book
smart, but there’s a lot of layers of intelligence and humor and
loyalty, all those things that you want in a good friend. He’s a fun
character to pull out of the bag.”
“[Season 3] was an opportunity to stretch a story out that at first was going to be pretty short-lived,” Grosse continues, “but then we just kept finding true notes and things that were interesting to expand and ameliorate this plot.”
“Justified” returns to FX in early 2015.
