Kat Dennings fans should be excited about the actress’ role in the upcoming “Thor: The Dark World.” Early reports say that the “2 Broke Girls” star has an extended part in the new Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, though Dennings admits she isn’t sure if that will remain the case when the final cut of the movie is released.
“I don’t know how they edit anything, so who knows. I was careful in the first one just to underplay everything incase they cut me out of it, but we’re about to do some reshoots,” Dennings tells Zap2it during an interview during CBS’ TCA party. “We’ll see.”
The character of Darcy wasn’t cut out of “Thor,” and she ended up providing much of the movie’s comedic relief. According to Dennings, “Darcy’s one of the most fun characters I’ve ever played and I love her a lot. They always give her really fun things to do.”
In “Thor,” Darcy was relegated only to the storyline set on Earth. But with Natalie Portman‘s Jane Foster getting to visit Asgard in the upcoming sequel, it doesn’t seem like a complete stretch to assume that Darcy might follow her there. Back in June, Jaimie Alexander tweeted about doing “Thor: The Dark World” reshoots set in Asgard, but Dennings wouldn’t say if that’s where her scenes are set as well.
“Asgard? I can’t say. I can’t tell you. They’re very tightlipped about the Marvel universe,” she teases.
“Thor: The Dark World” is due in theaters on Nov. 8.
