Troubled comedian Katt Williams was arrested Friday (Dec. 28) at his home near Los Angeles on suspicion of felony child endangerment and possession of a stolen firearm.
According to police, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services were paying a welfare check at his Woodland Hills home, where they found several guns, one of which had been reported stolen.
Speaking with TMZ after he was released on bail Friday night, the “Friday After Next” star protested, without a hint of irony, “How do you keep kids safe without guns?”
He also copped having marijuana at the house, but insisted, “Weed is not a drug.”
DCFS reportedly removed his children from the home, and it’s unclear whether they have returned.
Williams has had multiple brushes with the law this year, ranging from arrests for a Seattle bar fight and a police chase in Sacramento to being stopped by cops for a parking violation and another gun violation.
On Dec. 18, the IRS filed a tax lien against Williams for unpaid taxes in excess of $4 million.
