A source for Us Weekly claims that Perry “doesn’t approve” of Rihanna’s move to take back Brown after he beat her four years ago. This echoes a report The New York Daily News had back in November where an insider said Rihanna and Perry were “barely talking” and there had “been tension” between them after RiRi took back her ex.
Perry and Rihanna were attached at the hip throughout 2012, attending events like Coachella, the 2012 Grammys and the MTV Video Music Awards together. It was at the VMAs that Rihanna kissed Brown as she went up to accept her Video of the Year award, seemingly confirming their relationship. Maybe that was where her relationship with Perry started to unravel?
Whatever the reason, the two pop stars definitely weren’t seen together at the 2013 Grammys. Rihanna attended with Brown while Perry took “Girls” star Allison Williams and also hung out with her boyfriend John Mayer. Us’ source claims that, because Rihanna and Perry are on the outs, it created something of a seating nightmare for the folks behind the 55th Grammy Awards.
