Kelly Clarkson is the worst secret-keeper. The original “American Idol” winner told Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” earlier in November all about her desire to have “like, five” kids, but cagily sidestepped the host’s question about whether that would happen sooner rather than later.
“We are not announcing anything right now,” she said at the time, making it incredibly clear that she was planning on announcing something in the future.
Now we know why: It’s because the singer is pregnant! She happily announced the news on her Twitter a week after the appearance, where she told Leno, “I want a baby with little feet. I just want to bite ’em!”
Clarkson tweeted on Nov. 19, “I’m pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :)”
Having kids was never something Clarkson desired — “I never wanted kids before,” she told Leno — but admitted she and husband Brandon Blackstock, whom she married in October, had been working on conceiving “like rabbits.”
Clarkson’s Christmas special airs Dec. 11 on NBC.
