The Kentucky Derby is kind of a mash-up between a royal wedding (over-the-top hats), the Oscars (star power) and, umm, a horse race. And Hollywood loves a horse race.
With the 2011 Kentucky Derby set to take place on Saturday (May 7) at Louisville’s Churchill Downs, several celebs have already confirmed plans to attend this year’s festivities.
“I do have a hat,” said “Private Practice” actress Kate Walsh in an interview with Kentucky newspaper The Courier-Journal. “I have a couple of options, but I think I have my hat. It’s coming in from LA. I’ve seen pictures of it. I’m tracking my hat … almost like the hat is gonna race. I know it’s a very big deal.”
Also expected to sip mint juleps at this year’s derby: Wynonna Judd, LeeAnn Womack, Travis Tritt, Miranda Lambert, Salt-n-Pepa, Nick Lachey, Joey Fatone, The Jonas Brothers, Kate Gosselin and — perhaps the most promising guest of all — Tracy Morgan.
