Professional beach volleyball player Kerri Walsh Jennings did something a little bit different than the rest of the men and women who posed for ESPN’s Body Issue. While they all got nude for the annual issue, Jennings revealed herself both before and after her pregnancy in an attempt to show the strength of the female form.
“It will be cool to see the contrast of before and after. We’ll see where this all comes out,” she says in a video shot of the photo shoot before she gave birth. After having her daughter Scout, she says of having to pose again, “When I was pregnant I feel like I was in costume almost because it was such a foreign body to me. Now I’m in the ESPN Body Issue and my body isn’t where I want it to be so I’m a little more vulnerable.”
Jennings reportedly only gained 36 pounds during her pregnancy, and still apparently has 12 to lose. Still, she looks stunning on The Body Issue cover, and should be proud of her fantastic body. Her issue hits newsstands on July 12. Watch the video of the photo shoot below:
