Comedy Central wants more “Key & Peele” — a lot more, actually.
The cable channel has expanded Season 4 of “Key & Peele” to 22 episodes, marking the biggest order to date for the sketch show starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele. The show has produced 31 episodes over its first three seasons.
Comedy Central is also developing an animated series with the duo based on their “Critiquer’s Corner” web series, in which they play Vandaveon and Mike, who offer sophomoric suggestions about how to “improve” “Key & Peele.”
Season 3 of “Key & Peele” averaged about 2 million viewers and was No. 1 on cable in its time period with Comedy Central’s core audience of men under 35. Season 4 is set to premiere later this year.
