While most celebrities avoid the spotlight after a major shake-up in their personal lives, Kim Kardashian opted to keep her commitment to promote her handbag line in Australia this week after filing for a divorce from Kris Humphries after 72 days of marriage.
She and sister Khloe Kardashian did their first interview since the news broke of the split with Kyle and Jackie O, a radio show in Australia. Their first question: “How are you, doll?”
“I mean, you know, in the tough situation, I think I’m trying to do the best that I can. It’s actually kind of an escape to be able to come here,” she says. “There’s really no easy way to go through something like this.”
While she declines to go into detail about their problems, she does reiterate much of what she said in her extensive statement to fans. “I don’t think that I’m really ready to go into the details of what went on in my marriage, but I do want to make clear that I would never marry for a TV show, for money, for anything like that, and I think it’s really ridiculous that I have to even defend that, but I guess that comes along with when you film your wedding for a reality show. Just with the support of my family everything will work out the way it’s supposed to.”
