The Brooklyn Nets felt a little like celebrating Monday, after going to Madison Square Garden and beating their biggest rival, the New York Knicks. The New York Post reports that Nets’ forward Kris Humphries went to his Twitter account to post a little jab at the Knicks, tweeting, “Big game tonight! The Garden got really quiet on the way out! #Brooklyn”
Seems innocent enough, right? Well, not to everyone. Knicks’ shooting guard, J.R. Smith, wasn’t happy with the tweet. Smith missed a game-tying shot as time ran out, leading to his team’s loss.
Still stewing about the outcome of the game, Smith responded, tweeting, “Wasn’t quiet when Kanye tore it down last month!” Smith is, of course, referring to Kanye West, who is having a child with Humphies’ sorta’, but not really, ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. Low blow, J.R.
Shockingly, this isn’t the first time Smith has gotten himself into a bit of trouble over his Twitter account. He was fined $25,000 by the NBA last year after posting a photo of a nude woman to the account. He also tweeted about his leaving the Knicks, though he later downplayed the situation and stayed with the team.
