They have been similarly quiet about the courthouse wedding since then. Only a few subtle hints from Bell let us know that anything happened. In addition to a wedding ring spotted on Sunday (Oct. 20), Bell tweeted cryptically about “wife coffee.”
Bell posted about the coffee thing on Friday (Oct. 18), saying:
“Wife coffee tastes way better than regular coffee in the morning :)”
Like many of the couple’s announcements, the casual style was evident.
If you want more than rumors and cryptic tweets, there’s also the fact that Bell was seen out on Sunday wearing a brand-new wedding ring. It is presumably the one exchanged with Shepard only a few days before.
Although only recently wed, the actors have actually been together for years. They first got engaged in 2009 but publicly said they would not marry until same-sex marriage bans were overturned. Following the June Supreme Court ruling that overturned the Defense of Marriage Act, the two reconfirmed their commitment to marry. They reportedly were applying for a marriage license in Beverly Hills when an officer of the court offered to hold the wedding on the spot. They went for it.
Bell and Shepard have one daughter, Lincoln, born in March 2013.
