“Friday Night Lights” alum Kyle Chandler continues his crossover into film stardom. On Friday (Feb. 17), he became the latest actor to join the ensemble cast of Kathryn Bigelow’s (“The Hurt Locker”) drama about the Navy Seals who hunted for, and ultimately found, Osama bin Laden.
Joel Edgerton, Jason Clarke, Chris Pratt, Jessica Chastain, Mark Strong, and Edgar Ramirez are already attached to the project.
Abrams most recently starred in J.J. Abrams’ “Super 8” and will be seen in “Broken City” opposite Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe and the Ben Affleck-directed “Argo.”
According to Deadline, Chandler will be playing a CIA agent in the bin Laden film.
Meanwhile, “Friday Night Lights” creator Peter Berg continues to push for a big-screen follow-up to the universally adored TV show. Would Chandler be on board?
“So much of these things become scheduling,” Berg recently told MTV. “Kyle is busy, Adrianne [Palicki] is busy, Taylor [Kitsch] is busy, Connie Britton is busy, but if we can get everyone in the same room at the same time, we all want to do it. We’re not done with ‘Friday Night Lights.'”
