“Parks and Recreation” and “Drunk History” actor Jason Schwartzman will host the first ever YouTube Awards, with headlining performances by Lady Gaga, Eminem and Arcade Fire.
Director Spike Jonez is also on board as the show’s creative director. He tells Billboard he’s looking forward to making the Nov. 3 90-minute live awards show “unconventional.”
Six awards categories will be announced in October, and winners will be decided entirely by fan votes.
YouTube’s vice president of marketing, Danielle Tiedt, says that by creating live videos during an awards show, “the experience becomes more about creating than presenting.”
