President Obama held a fundraiser Sunday night (Sept. 25) at the home of Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg in Atherton, CA. ABC News reports that Lady Gaga was in attendance and even spoke during the Q&A session.
Gaga thanked the president and then read from a letter from a fan about the suicide of another fan who had been the target of bullying. Gaga then made a general plea to everyone to do what they can to prevent bullying.
Prior to the dinner, Lady Gaga reportedly spoke privately with President Obama for a couple of minutes, which is just what Gaga had promised to do in the wake in of the suicide of 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer last week.
“I am meeting with our President. I will not stop fighting. This must
end. Our generation has the power to end it. Trend it
#MakeALawForJamey,” tweeted Gaga.
Earlier this weekend, Gaga also performed at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas where she dedicated her performance of “Hair” to Rodemeyer.
