Former NFL star Larry Johnson has been charged with felony domestic violence after allegedly strangling his ex-girlfriend. She told police at the time of the incident at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas that Johnson choked her to the point of unconsciousness.
Now according to the Clark County District Attorney (via TMZ), Johnson has been charged with one count of domestic battery stemming from the incident. He faces up to five years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
This is Johnson’s fourth arrest in nine years, each time for allegedly assaulting a woman. He has paid fines and been put on probation, but has never served any jail time. Johnson was a running back for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2003 to 2009.
