Get ready to bring on the tears: Lea Michele just released another song off of her first solo album, “Louder,” and it’s a tribute to her late love Cory Monteith, who died of a toxic overdose of heroin and alcohol in July 2013.
“You’re Mine,” which hit the web on Monday (Feb. 10), tells the story of how “Glee” co-stars Michele and Monteith fell in love. “And I told you all my dreams and fears, and you looked at me and your eyes filled with tears,” Michele sings. “And you said those three words I’d been waiting for. You became a part of me.”
Michele belts out the chorus and it’s easy to imagine her pouring her heart and soul into the song with lyrics like these. “You’re mine for life, and I’ll be by your side. We are entwined,” Michele sings. “You’re mine for life, hold me until we die. I’m yours and you are mine.”
